Our objective was to provide services and help the victims of sexual abuse to become members of society. The victims were 7 to 17-year-old girls who were kidnapped or tricked into sex slavery.
Children of Cambodia established a guarded shelter where rescued girls could live and recover. In the shelter the children/adolescents received ongoing psychological counseling, instruction in primary levels of education. Further educational opportunities were sought according to the individual interests of the youth.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland partially funded the shelter project. Additional funds were collected through private donors and corporate donations.
